Bailey is not a Spaniel, he is a large (40Kg!) Rottweiler. He hasn't had the greatest start in life, having lived in a tiny flat for a long time without exercise or socialisation, he is however, a lovely natured boy (if a little giddy) who is highly delighted to have space to play with his new doggy friends and who just loves his walks - even if they do make his poor feet and legs a bit sore.
Bailey is starting to muscle up well now with regular walking and his doggy manners are improving all the time, although he still finds fast moving dogs hopelessly over-exciting. He isn't a short term project, and as he has very poor joints and suffers chronic lameness, he won't ever do 'proper' agility, but we do let him have a little play with the equipment and he is showing a real aptitude for it, it is such a shame he can't do more as he loves having a 'job'. I also wish I could wave a magic wand and cure his obsession with strange dogs, although this is improving all the time.
Bailey might well be seen in the agility ring in anysize classes this Spring, so watch out - we might need some fielders!
